Nursery Class

We are delighted to announce that we have opened a new Nursery Class for children aged 3 and 4 years old!

Why should you choose our Nursery?

  • The Harris Federation has a proven track record of running high quality nursery settings. Currently 100% of our nurseries are judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’ with 91% ‘outstanding’.
  • In September 2023, Harris Primary Academy Haling Park was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted. The school has the capacity and expertise to expand our provision to serve even more families within our community.

Our Nursery Class

The new Nursery at Harris Primary Academy Haling Park is an Early Years provision with warm and welcoming staff, that are a dedicated team of individuals working together to promote a wide and varied Early Years provision.

Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer the children a learning through play-based experience as required for the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Our Nursery offers 52 places (26 each session). This is a mixture of full time (30 hours) and part time (15 hours) places, funded.

Our Nursery runs term time only in line with the term dates for the main school.

The hours for the Nursery are as follows:

Morning session: 8.30am - 11.30am.

Afternoon Session: 12.30pm - 3.30pm.

Full Day: 8.30am – 3.30pm*

*This includes an hour for lunchtime provision chargeable at £6.00 per pupil per day.

Wraparound Provision

As part of our Nursery class we will also be offering a wraparound provision. We will have 16 spaces available as part of our extended day. We will always do our best to accommodate all families that require extended hours. However, should this provision be oversubscribed, these spaces will be allocated with priority given to those children attending full time or if they have siblings already attending our main school wraparound provision.

This provision has an additional cost which falls outside of Government funded childcare.

Breakfast Club: 7.30am-8.30am (Mon-Fri) - £6 per day

After School Club: 3.30pm-6.00pm (Mon-Fri) - £15 per day

Costs

At present all three and four year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week, up to 38 weeks per year. The government also provides an extended 15 hours of free childcare per week - 30 hours in total for 38 weeks per year, for those families that are eligible.

Parents can also get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year). For more details and to find out if you are eligible please visit the following link https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare
